There's no love like a mother's love

“Sons are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3

There’s no love like a mother’s love is an old proverbial saying meaning there is a bond between a mother and child which cannot be separated.

Psalm 139:13 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” As this tiny baby forms inside us, each perfect detail begins to emerge. Our daughter is expecting her third but has developed complications so her doctor is being cautious. I was able to go to one of her ultrasounds and we could see into the baby's nose, see her heart beat and even see her diaphragm go up and down as she prepares to breathe after birth.

There’s nothing like having a baby because the connection is real. Our bodies go through changes we cannot even imagine yet miraculously our bodies transform for this tiny human to enter the world. Now we’re responsible to sustain the life of another human and the bond that has been formed is inseparable.

As they grow up everyone around them has an active role in their life. Being a positive influence guides and encourages them to grow into an independent, loving and compassionate person. Although there is no love like a mother’s love we all have loved ones around us that love our children as their own. Whether you’re an aunt, grandmother, or friend, spending time nurturing and loving our children is a blessing to us all.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kim Johnson.  I am a Wife, Mom, Sister, Friend, and Grandmother.  I have lived in Virginia for the past 25 years but my roots are from North Carolina where I grew up hearing idioms.  My children said I should write these things down so I took it to a deeper level and connected them to scripture to show how God has continually revealed himself in my life.

You may be wondering where "Blooming With Jesus"  came from. My inspiration came from my grandma who loved me unconditionally and spoke these idioms to me throughout my life. Through these I have been able to blossom in my faith and grow closer to God each day. My hope is as you read these you too will be able to grow in your faith.
