As free as a bird

“I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.” Psalm 119:45

Free as a bird is someone who lives a carefree life without concerns, worries, or commitments. This is a simile comparing a free-spirited person to a bird.

We have so much to be thankful for in this nation and so often we take our freedom for granted. We have the privilege to worship who we want and that was the premise of our founding fathers seeking religious freedom. They wanted to be able to worship God freely and openly acknowledge Jesus as their Lord. Biblical principles were used to guide the authors of the Constitution as it was being written which seems to have been forgotten today.

So, on this fourth of July, I hope we all say a prayer for our nation to once again get back to the truths this wonderful country was founded on. We can all live a life as free as a bird without worries when we give our worries to God. He carries our burdens and wants us to honor Him in everything we do.
