Always chasing rainbows

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” Genesis 9:13

Someone who always chases rainbows is constantly in pursuit of something more appealing, never seeming to be satisfied with what they have or desiring something unattainable.
My friend let me share this amazing photo of a rainbow she captured on her farm. I love seeing a rainbow appear after a storm because it’s a beautiful reminder of God’s love and the covenant he made with Noah thousands of years ago.
We all had dreams and aspirations as a kid, or at least I did. I remember taking a business class where we had to design our own business. I envisioned myself owning an Interior Design shop on the main street of town. Things didn’t work out that way.
Sometimes our dreams align perfectly with God while other times they don’t fit into the plan God has for us. We’re disappointed when things don’t work out the way we think they should but God has something even greater waiting for us. Dreaming motivates us to continually grow and become the person God wants us to become.
It’s great to have dreams but we have to be careful not to become dreamers. Dreamers have big aspirations on what they’re going to be or what they’re going to do but they fail to engage to make anything happen. In reality they’re making decisions that aren’t practical at all and seem to be just chasing rainbows. Ecclesiastes 5:7 says, “Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore stand in awe of God.”
When we seek the will of God, we will succeed because he has a plan for us. Saying you're going to be successful means nothing unless you’re willing to put in the time, determination, and hard work.
