“They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, ‘Hosanna!’ ”
John 12:13

The tables have turned means a drastic change has occurred creating opposite results than earlier in the situation. This phrase originated from turning a backgammon board game so players can trade positions.
Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week and a day for Christians to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. The streets were lined with people waving palm branches because they believed Jesus would lead them to victory over the Romans who had invaded their land.
But the tables quickly turned as the same crowd shouting, “Blessed is the King of Israel”, as He arrived on the back of a donkey, would have Him crucified by Friday.
Jesus did come to free them from bondage, but not the bondage they had in their mind. God’s love for mankind was so great, He sent His Son to die on the cross to conquer sin and death to give us eternal life.
As Easter is approaching, this is a wonderful time to reflect on what was done for us and to share this good news boldly to others.
