"Dear children, let's not love with words or speech but with actions and truth."
3 John 1:4

As sure as God made little green apples means what was said is based on truth without a shadow of doubt.
Today is St. Patick's Day. A day when children get pinched when they forget to wear green, rivers are dyed green, and parades break out to celebrate Partick. But who was Patrick? Was he real or just a legend?
Patrick was very real and when he was a teenager, he was taken to Ireland as a slave; put to work as a shepherd. Being afraid, isolated, and hungry, he sought a relationship with God while with the flock. After six years of captivity, he felt the Lord telling him to flee back to Britain where he began the process to become a priest. Years later he returned back to Ireland to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the pagan people who had abducted him years earlier.
So this day is more than wearing green. It's a day when we should remember a Christian hero who dedicated his life to serve the Lord. Partick knew the truth and had a burning passion to evangelize the truth so everyone could live in the light. We don't have to go into another country to share the gospel, because just as sure as God made little green apples, we're all called to reflect His light to everyone.
