“I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.” Psalm 9:1

You’re the cat’s meow is an old idiom which means something is wonderful or excellent and is desirable to others.

I think every class in school has the popular kids who seem to have been blessed with outstanding athletic abilities or exceptionable good looks. I know my school had its share of these kids who just seemed to attract the affection of others.

Jesus also drew others to Him. Today we would call them “roadies”. Regardless of where he was people gathered either to witness the great miracle worker at work or to be healed themselves. He never turned anyone away, regardless of how they were afflicted.

Many people sought out the Lord simply because they were either blind, lame, or had some terminal illness. These people were desperate for relief so God used their infirmaries to bring them to Jesus but not only were they physically healed, but also spiritually redeemed.

Not much has changed through the years. When we know of anyone dealing with an illness, we immediately reach out to them and offer prayer for a speedy recovery or a remedy for their pain. God uses our ailments to make us need Him and to draw us into a more intimate relationship with Him. Our dependence grows more on our Heavenly Father when we are dealing with pain in our lives.

Jesus was perfection and others migrated to Him because they were desperate to be healed and made whole. When we allow Christ to be the center of our lives, others are attracted to us. There is something different about us. We have the peace that passes all understanding living in us through the Holy Spirit allowing us to be the cat’s meow.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kim Johnson.  I am a Wife, Mom, Sister, Friend, and Grandmother.  I have lived in Virginia for the past 25 years but my roots are from North Carolina where I grew up hearing idioms.  My children said I should write these things down so I took it to a deeper level and connected them to scripture to show how God has continually revealed himself in my life.

You may be wondering where "Blooming With Jesus"  came from. My inspiration came from my grandma who loved me unconditionally and spoke these idioms to me throughout my life. Through these I have been able to blossom in my faith and grow closer to God each day. My hope is as you read these you too will be able to grow in your faith.
